Information for Buyers

Condition

When buying second-hand LP records, an accurate description of the condition is of paramount importance, and it’s something that we take very seriously here at Hillside Harmonies. Each record is given a careful visual inspection, then cleaned and played as necessary. We generally err on the cautious side, so you won’t find inflated gradings here! We use the UK standard system of grading from Near Mint to Fair. A Near Mint record will play just about flawlessly; records in poorer condition will have a full description of any problems.

CDs are always sold without any problematic marks on the disc. The condition of jackets and CD cases is also noted; we use the term ‘foxing’ to describe any slight damp or dirt staining that can often be seen.

Payment

We use PayPal to process all transactions, but please note that you do not need a PayPal account to make a purchase. If you require another method for payment, please get in touch with us.

Postage

We offer combined postage across the store, please use the “payment review” option at the checkout so that we can provide the best postage rate available. We take great care to ensure that your order will arrive undamaged, and use only the best packaging options available. For our UK based customers our competitive postage rates are calculated automatically at checkout.

For orders in excess of £20 we recommend that you use a tracked and signed service. Please note, in certain circumstances we will insist on sending items fully insured and tracked, we will contact you if we require extra payment for shipping on completion of your order. If you are based outside of the UK then we charge a flat rate shipping fee which will cover most small to medium weight orders. Again, we will contact you if your order requires an extra shipping charge. Please check your email to stay up to date with your order.

Returns and Refunds

We offer a ‘No Quibble‘ returns policy, which means you may return any item to us within 30 days of receipt of your order for a refund. The product must be returned in the same condition as was received to qualify for a refund. If for any reason you’re unhappy with your purchase, please contact us and we will do our best to resolve the issue for you. This may involve a full or partial refund depending on the value of the item and if we require its return.
