Sell your classical records and CDs. We’re constantly on the look-out for high-quality collections of vinyl records and CDs. There are a number of factors we consider when looking at a collection. Normally we start with record label. Of particular interest are record labels such as:
- Argo
- Chandos
- Columbia EMI
- Decca
- Deutsche Grammophon (DG)
- HMV/EMI
- L’Oiseau-Lyre
- Lyrita
- Philips
- RCA
- Supraphon
- but there are many other collectable LPs and CDs on less well-known labels!
Vinyl records tended to be re-released at later intervals, and it is the first pressings that have the most value and for which we’d pay the most money. Condition is also extremely important, so a well-cared for collection is always going to be more valuable.
We’re happy to evaluate collections nationwide but would normally ask for some information before arranging an appointment to come and view. Often this can be done by simply noting down the catalogue number and brief details of the items and emailing them to us; sometimes a series of photos (with the spines visible) is all that’s necessary; and occasionally we can do this over the phone in the case of smaller collections.
We also buy (on a selective basis) musical ephemera, such as concert programmes and photos, as well as some scores and books about music.
If you would like to sell your classical vinyl record collection, or if you would like to sell your classical CD collection then please contact us via phone, email, or the contact form and we’ll be happy to help.
